First Reading: Isaiah 43.16-21
Psalm: #126  … Refrain: The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy
Second Reading:   Philippians 3.8-14
Gospel Acclamation: (Joel 2.12-13) Return to me with all your heart, says the Lord, for I am gracious and merciful. 
                                     Glory and praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Gospel:  John 8.1-11  Jesus forgives a woman caught in doing a grave sin
Theme:  Return to God. He does not condemn, he forgives us, and wants us to show our gratitude.

Commentary:  
In our first reading Isaiah reminds us that we were made to give God glory and praise, for truly God has done great things for us. We are his people, whom he teaches and wants a relationship with. The beautiful Psalm126 declares that because of all that God has done for us we are filled with joy
